The tour sets off from Rome via the Autostrada del Sole. The drive will take us through the charming vineyard-covered Castelli Romani hillsides and across the region of Ciociaria whose view of the Abbey of Montecassino, completely rebuilt after the second world war, will surely capture your imagination.
Upon arriving in Naples, the group goes on a panoramic view of the city. The city is rich in historical attractions including the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Maschio Angioino, Castel dell'Ovo (literally translated as Egg's Castle), the San Carlo Opera House, and the Gallery of Umberto I. Our time in Naples conclude with the hill of Posillipo, from where one can enjoy spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius.
We head to Pompeii next where the group has lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards, we explore what remains of Pompeii today. Completely buried by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D, Pompeii is now a huge tourist attraction, drawing millions of visitors eager to explore the ruins and archaeological digs that give us a glimpse of everyday life back before the eruption.
The tour heads back to Rome around 17:30 in the afternoon.
